Easter was beautiful this year. Beautiful because of what it is, of course. But also because of what it was this year. This year, Easter was smaller, calmer, less outward driven for us, more deliberate. We had our traditional Easter brunch with delicious things we had on hand. I had two cans of cherry pie filling in our pantry, and Madison made a delicious coffee cake we hadn't thought of in years. We also had scrambled eggs, frozen cinnamon rolls, fruit salad, and some frozen hash brown potatoes that Madison found hiding in her freezer!
There were baskets and chocolate, and a beautiful Easter mass on television, offered by our amazing pastor and friend Fr. Ross. We didn't get dressed up, or take a family picture. I didn't even get pictures of the kids with their baskets. But we were together. We called my dear mom and texted other family members. We took a nap. And played a game. Easter came, despite a horrible worldwide pandemic. And this year, for me, it meant even more.
I hope you had a blessed Easter with your loved ones, my friends.
Now, I am off to put the bunnies and carrots away. I am feeling the need for a less cluttered space these days! Thanks for visiting!
Sadly we are not able to get together with our family due to this pandemic but technology was good to us giving us some special time together. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeletePerfection. I didn't ever put up Easter decorations. With all the school stuff, I needed less clutter from the get go of the staying home. I am glad you were all able to celebrate well together. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you had a wonderful Easter. I was putting the baskets away last night and bagging up the candy and the kids were asking me why I wasn't leaving them out. I said less clutter is better! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt was very quiet here, but I was happy that my kids were and are safe and healthy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! I'm so glad you guys had a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Your dog is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteWe have little visitors right now, fleets and flocks of them: ants. Evelyn and I went to Home Depot when it first opened this morning to get ant traps and such. We had to bag up all the loose Easter candy! I'm glad we were still able to get those little traps, and that there were hardly any people in the store. Our Easter was quite low key...I didn't take pictures of the kids because, well, they were in their comfy at-home clothes! We did spend a bit of time out in the yard, we did an egg hunt out there. Your table looked so nice and springy!

You were together and cozy and that's the most important part. Plus...cinnamon rolls! Happy Easter to all of you. Love and miss you! (ps Miss Mocha's Easter outfit is killing me....so cute!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was different than any other Easter, but it was good because HE is good.

ReplyDeleteI also already tucked away Easter until next year. Be well.
Oh, look at all that wonderful food. You had a very nice Easter. We had a lovely Easter as well, and I made some Yummy foods. Yes, the Mass on EWTN was beautiful, and I'm so glad they have this channel, as I find peace in so many shows they offer. Your dog's bunny outfit is too cute. And those cinnamon rolls, oh my!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely Easter post, Billie Jo.
