Halloween Party!

Hello, my friends! Happy Wednesday! Although Halloween isn't until tomorrow, we celebrated with our Fifth Annual Family Halloween Party last night. It worked out with work schedules, and I was happy because Halloween is best spent cozy on the couch with an old spooky movie. I decorated with things I had around the house, printed off some fun Halloween games, and set the table earlier in the day. Once everyone was here, I lit the candles, and we got started.

First, we ate. This year, I decided to do something simple. While there is now a fancy name for it, I prefer to call this cheese, crackers, and fruit. I also made some orange Kool-Aid and was good to go! We are pretty big on tradition around here, and orange Kool-Aid at Halloween is big.

We took some pictures to document this yearly event, and although we missed Peyton and Christopher, we kept them informed with pictures all night.

This year's guests were a friendly gorilla, a super cute Banana, Violet from The Incredibles, and a chic and classy witch. Not pictured but still able to make it was a well-dressed, successful businessman named Nicolas. : ) We played some trivia games and even a Family Feud game, and then we were ready for dessert! Madison made this delicious Halloween cake!

Rhett surprised us with an amazing homemade peanut butter pie!

And Madison and Flynn made this Gingerbread House for decoration. Peyton was quite proud!

You are always young enough to celebrate the fun of Halloween.

Have a spooky, fun Wednesday, my friends!

Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday morning! I hope you had a lovely weekend, wherever you were and whatever you did. I am really fixated on all the fall things lately. I want to make sure I am taking it all in and appreciating it because these few days of vibrant, colorful leaves glistening in the sun, slowly drifting downward, their job almost done, are gone too soon. Each season has its crowning achievement for me, and these few days are just that for autumn. We have taken it all these past few days. Let me show you.

It was beautiful and cozy, and I felt like we were in Stars Hallow ~ for all the Gilmore Girls people out there! Afterward, I was happy in my cozy place.

Thanks to the magic of technology, we can stay in constant touch with Peyton and Chris. Here are the pumpkins she grew from last year's pumpkin seeds!

And, of course, my momma. My sister Margie makes sure I get to share in all their fun. Saturday was Trick-or-Treat night in my tiny hometown, and they passed out all their candy!

Well, it's time to get this last week of October underway! I plan to watch some of my favorite Halloween movies, enjoy festive food, turn off the lights, and watch a Halloween Ambiance YouTube video. This cozy, spooky, time won't return for another year!

Friday Photos

Hello, my friends! And Happy Friday! I apologize for not visiting this week. I plan to snuggle in with my coffee and laptop this weekend and catch up with you all. This week, my best friend Heather and her husband traveled here for a few days, and we had the best time! We stayed at the condo, and the late October weather could not have been more beautiful. We went to the most charming town nearby for a spa day and afterward sat outside for a delicious lunch in the autumn air. Madison arranged it all, and we all enjoyed it so much!

I am an early riser and, as such, am rewarded with sights like this when I walk into the kitchen.

Heather and I also spent some time on the beach, watching the waves and talking, or as my dad used to say, "...solving all the problems of the world!"

Today, we are planning lunch and a bit of shopping. I am always so happy to spend time together. Everyone needs a Heather in their life.

Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy it doing what you love—or maybe doing nothing. Next weekend, we welcome November! But first, Halloween!
