  1. It's a great day, like a year's worth of holidays wrapped up in one event.

  2. Wow, stunning! Even the water is orange. And you centered the flag perfectly!

  9. I am gutted and terrified what this man is going to do to this country. God help us all. We will not even recognize this country a year from now.

  10. Billie Jo, I have been reading your blog for many years. I've known we are politically far apart, but that has never mattered to me. It still doesn't really matter now, because you are still you.

Having said that, as a European, I am very scared of the future with Trump in power, and heartbroken for my American friends (especially women) who will be affected by this Presidency, as well as the people suffering deeply in Gaza and Ukraine.

    Wishing you well.

  12. SO beautiful. Friend, I have an apology to make...the recipe for the filled cookies was lacking the ingredients for the filling. That would have been sad if you had gotten that far with the dough and then realized there was no filling ingredients...only instructions for what to do with them. It's all corrected now, just in case you would want to recopy the recipe so that it includes EVERYTHING. lol I'm so sorry.

  15. While we are opposite sides, I respect your choice. What I don't respect is the fallout already being demonstrated by young men saying 'your body, my choice.' Is this the world we voted for and are okay with? I have my concerns about our borders (as I used to live in San Diego, very close to the border) and the economy. But I am more concerned with my rights being stripped and my granddaughters'. I feel betrayed.

  16. Respect your choice and love you always Friend! I have several loved ones on that side of things too and it will never change my love for them. That's what makes this country what it is! I have some very close friends and family in mourning and grieving and it hurts my heart to see them so worried and upset. I, however, put all my faith in God above and I love my country and all the sacrifices my brother made for it as a lifer in the military. That will never change either, even if I don't agree with the administration. I just pray for peace and compassion by all sides in the days ahead.
And I love that glorious sunset! Blessings on your weekend ahead. xoxo

  17. Beautiful sunset with the flag of the day after election day!! Praying for peace in the country helps as we got through times in our lives that people don't always understand. God is always with us!! God bless your day with family!!!
