But boy, was it fun!
The whole month of October was glorious this year because we were intentional in our love of fall. We spent time outdoors, admiring the gradual changing of the leaves, watched fun and spooky movies, snuggled on the couch with soft autumn throws, and cooked seasonal meals with fresh produce from the farmer's market. We also enjoyed our favorite Halloween treats!
Today, we gather the discarded costumes, pack up the spooky decor, breathe, and start thinking about the wonderful times yet to come. We begin this with the Catholic Feast Day of All Saints, a favorite of mine, in which we remember the known and unknown saints and ask them to take our petitions to God.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
Welcome to a magical time of year!

Oh, I really like Clyde Watson's view on November. I'm going to enter that one in my quotes journal.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of the pictures of family as well. When I saw the first picture of Steve and Flynn, I thought it was Peyton! I can't believe how much she is looking like her beautiful sister. xx
Dearest Billie Jo,
ReplyDeleteHalloween has never been adopted by both of us... Sure, having children there seems to be no way around it.
But indeed, for us Catholics it is a time to reflect on All Saints and All Souls, all those that went before us...
Hugs,
Mariette

Thanks for all the great October posts.
ReplyDeleteNovember is my 2nd favorite month. Maybe not as much color, but lots of warmth and lots of coziness just the same. Happy November to all!
I always have a happy cozy feeling when I visit your blog. Happy November friend!

ReplyDeleteThe spooky jams are too fun. Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI haven't cut up my big pumpkin yet but should do before it gets too cold. I have a bit smaller one that I put stickers on Wed at adult center. It's most likely useable. I like what you shared and it's good to have cooler weather and there is more snow on Mt. Hood. Most likely why is was cold for a few days last week!! Have a blessed November!!!
ReplyDeleteHow the month just flew by. I am not a fan of the longer nights but what can we do. Those are some lovely poems.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a good time!! You guys do know how to make the most fun of special days!
ReplyDeleteHalloween went by in a blink of an eye. I can hardly believe it’s over and that we are a week into November. I love your table, the tablecloth in particular, and your “cloudy with a chance of doom“ sign. So cute!
