I was sitting on the couch talking on the phone with my sister about our dear Mom and her Alzheimers journey when I looked up and saw this visitor. I knew right away. I felt right away that it was my Dad telling me he was near and everything would be just fine. Thanks, Dad.
The cardinal visitors I get to my feeder always make me think of Rebecca and my dad! Isn't it funny how a beautiful red bird can make us feel like our loved ones are near?

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I have a cardinal pair that hangs out around my front porch every year. I saw and heard them for the first time this spring yesterday. I also saw a white butterfly outside my kitchen window, which I take as a sign that our stillborn son Travis is visiting!

I have never had a cardinal on the covered part of my deck until this year and now I have a male who comes in to say hello nearly every day. I named him Dad too!
ReplyDeleteYes :) When we lived at our old house, every time I would walk outside to pray, a cardinal would join me. I was so happy when they started showing up at our new place. I always say "hello Jesus" when I see them :)

Your Dad no doubt is close to you as his soul never died and you still can feel his presence and you can communicate with him.

OH MY GOSH! Yes, I do believe that we get signs from loved ones, and so many other wonders in this world. And secondly, the red cardinal! A dream of mine to see one someday. What a beautiful picture and such heartwarming words today, Billie Jo. I loved it all. : )

We have lots of Cardinals at our feeders and on the fence looking pretty so I guess my Mom, Dad, and brother are all looking down on me. I find myself wondering sometimes how they are getting on in heaven. Seriously, Billie Jo, I love your blog! It’s so refreshing! ❤️

ReplyDeleteI remember seeing cardinals when my daughter and I were in Carthage, Missouri in December years ago. Always fun to see birds 🐦 that aren't in Oregon. It is a bit warmer today and hope it gets a bit warmer soon. Hope your mom is getting help in life. My mom's thru something that years ago. 🙏 for you all. 🌷
ReplyDeleteMy Granny loved red birds best of all, so much so that my son and daughters all have something cardinal related in their homes. I personally always feel I have had a visitation from Granny when I see a red bird. At the very least, I think of her and feel she's thinking of me...
