Rhett took me to mass on Sunday. It was just the two of us. Steve and Flynn were at camp, and Peyton went with Chris Saturday night. The weather was horrible on Saturday so I stayed home. It was a little better Sunday, but not enough that I felt comfortable driving. So my Rhett took me. As we sat there together, I thought back to the many times I took him to mass. Just the two of us. When he was a baby, I took Rhett to one mass, and Steve took the girls to another. I loved that special time we had together, my baby boy and me. And today, when I looked over at him and saw a young man in that baby's place, I was happy. And proud. And thankful that God chose me to be his mom.
Have a wonderful Monday, my friends.
Thanks for visiting!
Love that

ReplyDeleteThat is beyond sweet, it's amazing to experience goodness from the very children you once took complete care of. My oldest is an NP, and I find it amusing AND amazing when she takes care of me, advises me on health issues...my little girl, my first baby...:)
ReplyDeleteSweet picture of you and Rhett, and, yes, life has come full circle, hasn't it? The lives we poured into are now pouring back into us. Love the quote!!

This was a dear post about the time spent with you and your son. And it really got to me, as a mother and son's relationship is very special. This is a wonderful picture of you and him when he was a baby. What a blessing it was for him to take you to church. : )

ReplyDeleteThat is certainly a sweet moment between the two of you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable photo of the two of you!!
ReplyDeleteI relate with this all too well Billie Jo. When my Aaron was home from college break I had several similar moments. It makes me so proud, as well as bring a lump to my throat at times. Remembering what was...which is precious and I forever live in gratitude of it all. But at the same time, knowing it's the true end of that chapter is bittersweet as well. 🙏 💜
