Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday my beautiful, amazing, selfless mother turned 83! The wonderful staff at her assisted living home hosted a party for her, her family and her friends. Steve and I were blessed that all our children drove down with us to celebrate their most awesome grandma. Rhett's sweet girlfriend came too, and I was so happy because my mom adores her! Nicolas was working and Christopher was at school, but Nicolas face-timed her and she was so excited! Margie and Chris were there too, and we had such a great time with them.

There were pictures with the birthday girl, a lovely blessing by her wonderful activities director Beth followed by Happy Birthday to You! and a delicious cake with ice cream. Peyton made chocolate chip cookies to share with the residents too. It was so nice to visit with all of them!

My mother enjoyed every single moment, and I will hold the memory of her smile in my heart forever. She is doing wonderfully, and we feel blessed. She loved all her gifts and cards and read and appreciated each one. Afterward, we went back to her room and visited with the birthday girl. We all took a turn sharing special memories of mom, and I was so touched to hear my children each share several special moments they remember with their grandma! 

It was the most special afternoon, one we will remember forever. We are so thankful for the beautiful place she calls her home for hosting such an awesome party.
