Good Friday morning, my friends. First up, I wanted to thank you for your kind words in response to yesterday's post on the passing of our dear friend Mary. She was an amazing lady and friend. We will miss her dearly.
We are now smack dab in the middle of summer, and it certainly feels like that around here. I don't mean just temperature and humidity-wise, either. I am referring to the whole vibe, as my kids call it. Summer is slower and allows for more spontaneity around here. Dinner may be planned or maybe not. We eat outside and linger on the porch, letting dirty pots and pans sit in the sink while we visit as the sun goes down. We swim in the morning, or maybe at night. The laundry room is scattered with damp towels, and half-empty bottles of sunscreen are scattered everywhere. And it is good.
This week...

Anticipation and planning IS half the fun!! I agree!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I love summer but I look forward to the beautiful season of fall.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos on your walks! I love the lazy days of summer as well, but the older I get the more the heat gets to me. By the end of July, I start looking forward to the cool autumn weather and the leaves changing and the warm sweaters... :)
ReplyDeleteLoved that meme of the pumpkins and their briefcases!
Your summer mess sounds like the best kind! The kind that means you are alive and enjoying it! The sunrise is gorgeous! Me too, ME TOO!! I can't wait till fall!! And I am looking at hobby lobby on Facebook, their fall things are now 40# off, and adorable. I plan a trip there soon. I love the pumpkins on their way to make lattes! And Morticia Addams.
ReplyDeleteI thought summer was never going to get here this year so I have been trying hard not to complain when it is SO HOT that you sweat the minute you step outside. lol. Fall is always in the back of my mind because it is my favorite season.
