We are home! Yesterday, Peyton and Christopher came to help us with the last of the packing and purging. I don't know how we would have done it without them. We were also blessed with Steve's sisters and their husbands, who came to say goodbye, and promised to come visit sometime! We even came home with a homemade apple pie! We planned to leave Pennsylvania at 4:00 in the afternoon, and actually waved goodbye at 5:15, so that wasn't too bad. Christopher took one last photo of us, and we loaded up and took off. With only one quick stop, we arrived home in Maryland around 11:45, and were welcomed by the brightly shining porch light Rhett left on for us.
Thankful, exhausted, excited, and fueled by Peyton's delicious cooking and a few extra Dunkin' coffees.
The day started with this stunning final sunrise at the lake...
And ended with a beautiful, cozy welcome home complete with homemade cupcakes and fresh tulips, courtesy of Rhett and Kyrstin.
I hope things are well with you, my friends. I will be around to visit soon. Have a cozy Wednesday!
Billie Jo

I am glad you're home! Hope today is full of good and cozy things.
ReplyDeleteI had to check an east coast map to see how far apart the two states are. West coast girl.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I'm sure it has been bittersweet for you but that lake house will now be occupied with a new family that will fill it with wonderful memories as you have and I'm sure it feels good to be settled in the place you now call home. Home is where the heart is, as they say.
ReplyDeleteHome Sweet Home! Xx
ReplyDeleteNo sweeter place to be than Home. Glad you all made it home safely. How sweet to have cupcakes waiting for you.. I love it!! This is what family is all about. Hope you get some rest today.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back home, and safely back home, cause there's no place quite like it, is there? So thoughtful of Rhett and Kyrstin to have those Yummy cupcakes and tulips waiting for you. I noticed the pitcher they were in too, so cute. And that sunrise is just beautiful. I also made it home safely after a short trip, and I guess we both need to rest. ; ) I wish you a wonderful month of May coming up, Billie Jo. And that last quote is truly special.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing that big milestone and now on to the next chapter! Glad you got home safe and sound. And you have the sweetest most thoughtful kiddos (just like their Momma). That sunrise was stunning. 😍
ReplyDeleteIt is always so comforting to 'get home'. And, to be greeting with goodies. Just the best.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! How nice to have lots of help like that.
ReplyDeleteThere really is no place like home and getting back after a trip is like settling into a hug.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home! You have GOT to have the best family ever. From the kids and spouses to siblings and spouses. Everyone loves you all. I'm sure you'll want to do nothing for a few days after all of the hectic-ness of the past weeks. I'm glad you're in your happy place.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
