I Went For A Walk

From the files of things I never thought I'd say: I was so happy to resume my early morning walks yesterday! I love winter, being cozy, being home, being inside. You get the idea. However, when the sun begins to shine, the air feels warmer, and the mornings have a semblance of light, I am ready to slip on my shoes and resume my morning walks. Monday was that day this year, and it was glorious. Mind you, I walk for relaxation and mental health. I am more of a leisurely-stroll kind of girl, as opposed to the more committed step counters. Just a reminder to do you, without comparing yourself to anyone or any method. So, let's see what my first morning walk of the season looks like, shall we?

At the end of the road is this beautiful spot, where the dock and the boat launch are located. It is where I stop and say good morning to my Mom and Dad. You can see our condo building from here, too. It is right across the bay.

A little further down the road is this spot where the ducks seem to congregate.

The early morning fog was beginning to lift just as I rounded the corner for home.

And then I was back home, shoes off, coffee made, snuggled on the couch, knowing I had done something good for myself. And that I was home.

Have a happy day, my friends!

  4. Like you, I am not a 'power walker,' nor do I count the steps (any more). Just enjoying the moment, which is what you have illustrated for us here. Lovely. Peaceful.

  5. Beautiful places that you shared with your walk this morning. It's raining 🌧 and windy gusts now. I decided to get two flowers items off the steep so they won't blow away. I've not walked since last week. Home today due to upset stomach. 😔 🫂 my friend.

  6. This is what I love about you. No matter what the season or weather, you make me happy to have it! You find something good in everything. You enjoy all that each season brings. And I love that you walk slowly and notice everything!! The sky reflected in the lake is gorgeous.

  7. Such a beautiful walking place. You are so right, we should all walk what is comfortable for us! The main thing is to get out there and do something! :)

  8. Looking forward to walking weather here - except we're heading back into the 30's next week. It's been warm enough finally, but oh, so rainy. I wish I was committed enough to walk in the rain. And in the cold. It sounds so hearty. But I am a fair-weather walker.

  10. I like that little area where the ducks gather. They sure are enjoying themselves first thing in the morning. And I haven't heard lollygagging in a long while. Such a delightful phrase. Thanks for taking me along on your walk, Billie Jo. Have a wonderful rest of the week.

  11. Good for you taking that walk. It seems like a long walk in that photo where you see your condo across the water. WOW!

  12. Springtime walks are so refreshing! I loved seeing your world, and the beauty of the new morning. How amazing that you can see your condo across the water! Being home is absolutely the best, no place like it in the world!!!!!

  13. I loved going on your walk with you Billie Jo. Such a nice place to walk and visit the ducks and other waterfowl. I didn't realize just how close the condo is to your house. We got our first look at the ocean, (well the Gulf, we're counting it as ocean, it has waves!), yesterday. We can just barely see it across the road from our campsite. It's not far at all, only about 2 blocks to the water but there are houses in between. We have to go to the public access just about 2 blocks down the road to actually walk on the beach. We so needed this water time. We went to the Oregon coast several times a year when we lived in Washington and we've been missing it.
It's lovely here and we have a palm tree in our campsite! There are NO palm trees in Nebraska!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
