Good Monday morning, my friends! Today I am sharing our Christmas home with you. I like to document our house each year at Christmas, so I appreciate you allowing me to share it here. I'll start with our favorite Christmas candle. I have been burning this Yankee Candle "Home For The Holidays" candle for so many years that my children say they think of home at Christmas as soon as they smell it. That is what it is all about, isn't it? Creating simple moments that turn into precious memories for our children to carry with them long after they are grown.
This is our first Christmas in this house, and I had so much fun finding the best places for each of our special Christmas items. Our decorations are special to us; some of them we have had since Steve and I celebrated our first married Christmas together, ahem...some thirty-four years ago! Taking them out and unwrapping them year after year always brings me such joy.
So, pour a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, grab a couple of cookies, and snuggle in! I am happy you are here! I'll start in the kitchen, which I decided is the best place for my Santa collection. As a fifty-six-year-old woman, I am proud to say that I still believe in Santa. : )
My mom had a pitcher very similar to this when I was little, so when I found this online years ago, I knew I had to get it. I think of her every time I look at it. The little mugs came from Pottery Barn.
This precious Santa was a gift from a student in 1994. It reminds me of my teaching days and the joy of those seven-year-olds at Christmas.
Getting artificial Poinsettias from Pottery Barn was the best decision ever. No mess. No danger to the dogs. Just shape and set!
Does that one crooked purple candle leaning out haphazardly from the Advent wreath bother me? Nope. Not in the slightest. Not one. Little. Bit.
This is my spot on the couch where I am right now. This is my favorite place in the house. It is right by the fire, and from it I can see the tree and the bay beyond.
Madison gets us a Danish Christmas Candle that we light every evening. Nicolas is Danish, and this is one of the wonderful traditions he shares with us. In Denmark, families light the candle every morning or evening as a cozy way to bring light to the dark winter.
The tree itself is new this year, but almost all the decorations and ornaments are ones we have collected through the years. Each has a special meaning and evokes a specific memory every time I see it.
Flynn found this for me this year, in memory of my sweet and beautiful momma.
And of course, this is the real reason we celebrate Christmas.
Thanks for visiting, my friends. Have a cozy Monday, and remember to be still and allow yourself some quiet and calm to reflect and rest this beautiful Christmas season.

ReplyDeleteBillie Jo. you home is so very pretty and you have done a wonderful job with the Christmas decorations to make it look so cozy and warm. You placed everything in just the perfect places and it all looks fabulous. I enjoyed this tour today..
ReplyDeleteI agree, I treasure our Christmas decorations too. It is so much fun opening the boxes they are all stored in. The kitchen looks awesome. Your decorations are so darn cute. I love the white poinsettias with the trees and reindeer. The stockings are awesome too. Well your whole post with all the photos is just stunning. I have that whole set of Willow Tree too. I put it on my fireplace mantel.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful it is at your place... I can't take my eyes off it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your home all decorated for Christmas with us. Everything looks beautiful and I enjoyed hearing the special memories attached to many of your pieces.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks lovely all decorated for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time I have come back to look! I always love when you show your decorations. So much beauty and joy everywhere you look! And let me tell you something, you were REALLY good to buy these artificial poinsettias. There are NONE here in ANY store!! Not even Michael's, unless you want blue or gold. So I have none in the house. I have never seen this happen. O.K., now some of my favorites! The icicles on your gorgeous tree, the nativity scene, the Santa pitcher and mugs, the way you hung the wreath over the sink, the candle that is a countdown to Christmas, like an advent candle. And your kitchen is stunning, with or without decorations.
ReplyDeleteHello dear Friend! Love seeing your home so beautifully bedecked for the holidays. It's such a stunning place and your decorations make it so cozy and fit so beautifully! I can see why that is the best seat in the house. :) Christmas blessings and cheer sent your way. 🎄❄️❤️💚
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful Billie Jo you are so blessed. I love the crooked advent candle.
ReplyDeleteLove your tree and all the Santas.
ReplyDeleteYour tree and that sweet radio are my favorites, but also YES to anything Pottery Barn! Faux poinsettias are right up my alley and yours is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHello my dear Billie Jo. I so enjoyed seeing your beautiful home decorated for Christmas and our Saviors birth. I have to admit to having a bit of kitchen envy though. :-) Next year I'm going to look into faux poinsettias. That is a great idea. I usually buy a couple of real ones but I always worry about Zoey getting into it.
ReplyDeleteWe leave for London on Wednesday and I just started packing today. It's a good thing we each get a free checked bag because one is completely full of gifts for our granddaughter!
Blessings,
Betsy
This is so beautiful, my friend! Thank you for sharing your home with us; I'm doing my own Christmas home tour tomorrow. I hope you check it out! Also, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know you must feel it right now with it being this time of year. I always enjoyed seeing her pictures here when you would share her with us while visiting your sister. Merry Christmas to you and yours, my friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful home. And your decorations just make it better. My favorite is the Nativity though. It is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! We got your Christmas card on Saturday, and it is hanging on the back of our front door where we display all of our Christmas cards. It is lovely! It was fun to see all of the Christmas decorations and special holiday things in your home. Everything is just perfect! Enjoy this wonderful season! See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is just beautiful, Billie Jo. And I love the festive touches throughout your home.
ReplyDeleteI bet you've already straightened that candle, haven't you. Xx
I also have Yankee candle burning and about the same angel on top of my tree. Your decoration is very nice and I love your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteHello, Billie Jo! Happy December! Your home is beautifully decorated for the holidays! Your tree is gorgeous! I love the cardinal ornament! I have one on my tree too, in honor of my mother, who loved cardinals. Every time I see one, I think of her. You are absolutely right, the nativity scene is the reason we celebrate Christmas! Thinking of you on these cozy, December days. Take care, dear friend!❤️
ReplyDeleteWow your house sure does look festive! Everything is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEverything is absolutely gorgeous! I love all of it, but the stocking holder caught my eye and the Danish candle, which is just amazing. I would love to have one! Everything just looks beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for this lovely tour.
