Hello! And Happy Friday! Mocha and I are snuggled on the couch, watching the grackles monopolize the feeder this morning. They tend to arrive early, and the smaller and more timid birds arrive once they have had their fill. We saw a beautiful cardinal couple and several cute finches yesterday, so we will have to wait and see.
We are all going to our first Lenten fish fry of the year tonight. Afterward, Peyton and Chris invited us to their house to decorate sugar cookies for Easter! Peyton always makes them in advance and has everything ready for us to ice and decorate. Again, I am so thankful that my adult children are so happy to continue the many traditions we enjoyed together when they were younger and have so much fun spending time with each other.
We plan on attending mass tomorrow afternoon, and on Sunday, Steve is taking a carload to a Penguins hockey game! I plan on staying home and organizing some things for Easter. We are planning a brunch here for Easter Sunday, so I want to look at ideas for that. I know we all say this, but how in the world is it Easter? Before we know it, it will be summer and the Fourth of July!
My friends, I hope you have a wonderful, cozy, springlike weekend. Thank you for visiting. I am always so happy you do!

Hi BIllie Jo! Sounds like you have a really nice weekend planned. Stay cozy! See you again soon.
ReplyDeletePeyton's cookies sound wonderful. It will be fun to decorate them. She is such a splendid baker, and I'm sure will have lots of stuff to make them look scrumptious. The Lenten fish fry sounds nice. That's really a good thing they do at your church. I will have fish sticks tonight, that's always yummy. What a sight to see the cardinals at the bird feeder. You know, it is a dream of mine to see the red cardinal one day. We don't see them here in California. Your coffee images are always so delightful, make me smile. And your cup! Have a lovely weekend, Billie Jo.

A nice calm weekend with family sounds perfect. I watched The Staircase after you recommended it, and woah! Lots of twists and turns in the beginning, then kind of dull and repetitive towards the end. I think he did it!
ReplyDeleteWhat could be better than a cutie pie dog and a pretty mug? In fact, could that be double Mocha? I love your tray! For an Easter decoration, it would be lovely to put some eggs, a bunny, and some flowers on it. I hope you get pics of the fish fry, what fun!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun decorating cookies! I wish I was there!! Enjoy your weekend planning! Miss you all! ♥
ReplyDeleteDearest Billie Jo,
ReplyDeleteMocha is a lucky fur baby!
You both know how to snuggle.
Wishing you a happy weekend.
Hugs,
Mariette
It seems like a wonderful family weekend scheduled for you and yours. Everyone must be feeling well and ready for fun! We haven't got many plans for Easter other than church. Hopefully we'll be well, but we tested Mom today for Covid and it was positive. Over 20 people at her Independent Living place have it. We've been with her every day this week, maskless. I'm afraid we're doomed! :-) Easter may be spent here at home.
ReplyDeleteTake care and enjoy your family!
Blessings and hugs, (from a distance)
Betsy
That is a nice relaxing picture with your furbaby! I am decorating this weekend for Easter. Not sure what we are having for our Easter meal yet, but I do like lamb. I hope the Lenten fish fry was good. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI always love to read about your family traditions. You've reminded me I need to gather the twigs for our Easter tree, although I expect Boo will think it is another toy just for him! X
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely weekend my friend. I hope you are feeling better smiles.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are enjoying a cozy time! I can't believe Easter is one week away. My goodness, this year is flying by. Have a beautiful day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Easter just snuck up on us. Your photo looks so cozy, and I love your mug! A person can never have too many mugs! Have a wonderful day!
