A Berkshire Blanket and Snoopy collaboration. Two of my favorite things.
Keeping a book journal is something new I am doing this year. I love to read, and spend much of my free time doing just that. Sometimes I forget what books I've read or what thoughts I've had, so this might be a fun and productive way to revisit them.
I am loving this naturally flavored sparkling water. I am really limiting my soda consumption, as middle age is not as forgiving as the teenage years, but I still like something special every now and then. This is delicious and simply flavored with natural ingredients. Plus, it comes in a can, not a plastic bottle!
With apologies to Yankee, Goose Creek is my new favorite candle brand. (Except my forever and ever favorites: Spiced Pumpkin, Home for the Holidays, and Christmas Eve, by Yankee Candle.)This is Red, White, and Blue, and it smells like cherry, citrus, and blue raspberry.
This moisturizer is excellent. It is a bit more expensive, but having had one round of Basal Cell Skin Cancer on my face, I put a great deal of importance on skin safety. This is SPF 40, and it smells great and feels good on my face. I have a thing about the feel of sunscreen on my face, but this just feels like moisturizer. I then use the Tinted SPF for a tiny bit of color and some added protection. Plus, these are all natural!
This is my favorite scent. It is also the only scent I wear, unless you count the lavender lotion I apply before bed. I have worn Amazing Grace for years and years, and I love that my kids associate the light scent of it with me. They say it smells "like Mom". I have received numerous compliments over the years, and what I hear is...You smell so good! Not...I like your perfume! Big difference.
Lastly, I'm loving our favorite summer meal... pasta with tomatoes. I use garden tomatoes and fresh garlic sautéed in olive oil. Then I add cooked pasta and a little bit of the water, with some fresh basil. Top it with freshly grated Parmesan and enjoy! This week, I added grilled zucchini and some organic chicken tenders.
Well, there you are. Just a few of my tried and true favorites! Have a cozy day, my friends. It is getting dark here. I think a storm is brewing!

A book journal is a great idea. I lose track of what I've read too. I read Perfect Marriage last year and I liked it too.
ReplyDeleteI like Goose Creek candles.
Your pasta looks so good!
I also wear Amazing Grace.
We love the garden tomatoes cooked and served that way too. Our tomatoes are just forming, however. Enjoy the remainder of the week.
ReplyDeleteTh storm just passed here. When I woke up, poor Zoey was hiding under our bed. She's terrified of thunder. It then rained all morning but has now stopped and the sun is out. Can you say HUMID? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteWhen Alex first moved to Japan years ago, he gave me Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom perfume and body lotion. I've worn it ever since. I tried to change once and Piper said I didn't smell like Grandma anymore so I went back to it.
Your book journal reminds me of the "Junk Journal" that Mandy and Piper are doing this summer. Nothing real fancy with stickers etc., just keeping track of everything they do every day throughout the summer. Lots of fun.
Enjoy your day. (I'm hungry now, looking at your dinner and it's 11:45 am, I think I'm ready for lunch.)
Blessings,
Betsy
We just had a nice steady rain for about 15 minutes but I hear more thunder in the distance. Our weather is to be like this through Friday. We need the rain so I won't complain. I enjoyed visiting with you here today! Your meal looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat pasta dish looks so good!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE seeing your favorite things! In fact, I have been thinking of starting a favorite things post every once in awhile. I am going to look for this water today! And I love your journal idea so much. I cannot remember even my favorite books!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'll have to look into that moisturizer. You know my problem with skin cancer and I'll try anything, no matter the cost (well, maybe there'd be a limit) and a dermatologist told me I should look into a moisturizer. That pasta looks amazing. I'm still waiting for my garden tomatoes to be ready. I don't know why it's taking so long.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! I love your book journal. This was a fun post. I'm looking for a new moisturizer that is also a sunscreen so I will check your recommendation. Hope your week is going well. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your "loves"! And I picked up some great tips too. Thanks for sharing them. Your book journal is so clever and would be fun to be able to revisit good reads. And I need to look into that spf moisturizer!! Have a very blessed July 4th ahead dear Friend. xo
ReplyDeleteI like ice cream and walking. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the book journal and I'm going to start one. Thanks for the idea!!!
HI Billie Jo.....I really like Goose Creek fragrances...I think they have a stronger smell. Your journal for books is a great idea...and it looks so fun!! This spaghetti gets a 10 plus from me...looks delicious. Wishing you and your family a lovely 4th weekend..
ReplyDeleteThe food looks great! I also love to read...I read non-fiction. Never heard of Goose Creek fragrances, this is new to me. The book journal sounds like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMy DIL gave me a book journal for Mother's Day and I am loving it! And that candle ...I love the scent you described! Those are my kind of scents. The pasta looks delicious! The perfect summer meal :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about your book journal, Friend! I'm tucking that idea away for next year's reading schedule. I'm in a busy season right now and wouldn't take the time to do it if I started now...but next year, Lord willing, it will definitely be a goal!
ReplyDeleteThe pasta and tomatoes look and sounds wonderful!
Wishing you a beautiful day my friend...I will check out that moisturizer, smiles.
ReplyDeleteI have that same journal in a few sizes - that whole collections of books & coffee was my favorite they did!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely list of "Likes"! I especially enjoyed the book journal.
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE this post, Billie Jo...about all your "favorites". I'm definitely going to try a few. The pasta meal truly does look like summertime! Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see all your favorite things. That candle is perfect for the 4th, with the scents of cherry, citrus, and raspberry. Cherries are my favorite fruit, and just bought some at the store. I'll have to try that sparkling water. And your pasta and tomatoes look delicious. I think sprinkling a little basil and parmesan makes it. The Amazing Grace scent sounds so pretty. And I LOVE the Snoopy blanket! It's fun to treat and surround ourselves with the things we love. : ) Happy 4th Billie Jo!
