Looking outside at the lake today, I see November in Pennsylvania. September has a look. October has one too. This is November. Muted browns and barren trees, with some stubborn leaves hanging on until the last gust before falling to the ground. The beginning of November is the time of year I catch my breath. I use this time to turn inward and prepare myself and my home for the weeks and months ahead. This year I am thinking about simplicity. About intention. And about a more relaxing, family-centered holiday season. How about you, my friends? What is November for you this year?
Thanks for visiting!
Have a cozy day!
Billie Jo
PA is so beautiful in Autumn. I love this season and the changing from summer to winter.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous picture. The months really do have their own colors, don’t they? I’m with you…catching my breath and preparing for the busy weeks ahead. But what a wonderful season is upon us! Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteOur weather improves and we get out more so that's what we look forward to after a hot summer! Enjoy your day sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteThis year for me November is gallbladder month (well, the removal of). I'm having it out tomorrow so will take the next couple of weeks to recover. That photo is magical
ReplyDeleteWell I was on your page, but the shop is going crazy so I am just going to try and keep up!
ReplyDeleteThose are good things to think about...I was writing a preliminary Christmas list last evening: 36 immediate family members: my husband, our 16 kids and seven spouses, one fiancé, and 11 grandkids. It's rather overwhelming...and I love each of them dearly. So I have my work cut out for me...I'm thinking to really keep it simple this year....

The loss of light in November always depresses me. I have to get out every day to get through!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty picture, Billie Jo. I love seeing the Autumns in all the different states. We are in full Fall season here, and the colors are just starting to pop. I drove down the mountain, and I saw oranges, but mostly golds. It's nice that you are thinking of simplicity for the holiday season. I hope you have sweet November days with your family, my friend.

Hi Billie Jo~ The lake is gorgeous! I agree, each month for me has a different look, and November for me is the month that I start to feel a little "nesty", maybe because of the time change. I like to cozy up my home, clean out closets and cupboards, go through recipes for the holidays, write multitudes of list of things I need to do, and random thoughts that cross my mind. On Tuesday night we had 73 mph winds, but some of the leaves are still hanging on! Happy November! Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteIt is looking very November-ish. Time to hunker down for a while, before we can get our festive sparkle on. Xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning picture! The muted colors are just gorgeous!
