Just a little reminder that things on the internet can be deceiving. For example, let's say I share a photo of my kitchen sink with you. I can choose how much and what angle I want to share with you, right? Looks pretty good. But let's look a bit closer, or maybe from a different angle.
There we are! What the remainder of my kitchen sink area looks like this Wednesday morning! I usually don't like to go to bed with dishes in the sink, but life happens, right?! I suppose the thing to remember is that what we see isn't always all there is. So no use comparing, lamenting, or worrying. Just enjoy.
Nothing behind the scenes here. Just the beauty of nature on a summer morning.
Happy Wednesday, my friends!
Billie Jo
Yes, my friend, things aren't always what they seem, and we don't know the person's situation until we've walked in their shoes. Thank you for this gentle reminder. And Oh, that sight of the precious deer! What a wonderful view to start the morning.

Such a beautiful view for your morning. Yes, things are not always the way they look. Good reminder. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteYou know, that's one thing about the internet. We show the slices of life we want others to see. It truly helps to share the not perfect things about us, too. I think that deep down, we all want to know that we're okay. If others aren't perfect, that makes it okay to be just ourselves trying to get a bit better each season.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Laura
It is easy to make people believe that all is perfect. I want a picture of dust bunnies under your bed. Mine are now eating each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous picture of the deer by the lake - so serene. Hope you are having a good Wednesday! I've just watered my outdoor plants and now it looks like it's going to rain - oh well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday! And yep...always real life going on here too. I have a "junk" room that needs complete cleaning and organizing. Sigh The lake and the deer looks like a peaceful painting. Blessings Friend
ReplyDeleteLove the nature photo! And you are do right my friend...things aren't what they seem sometimes. I think social media has made it so many think that they have to show perfect photos and not the everyday.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo - I love this reminder. Such a lovely view of the lake near your home. Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the lake, trees and that deer is so beautiful. Yup, life happens to all of us and sometimes we want the pretty pictures without the unsightly dirty dishes in the way. Who needs to know right? I do go to bed almost every night with a few dishes in the sink. I soak them in Dawn and a little bleach and in the morning they practically wash themselves. LOL
ReplyDeleteI try not to let dishes sit in the sink overnight either. But this morning there were several cups, a bowl, some silverware in there.
ReplyDeleteA timely and great reminder to just enjoy what we see online and not compare. I think it seems to be easier for those of us who are a bit older than it is for the ones who have grown up with a phone in their hand. That said, I might even like doing dishes (or at least not hate it) if I had that view to enjoy. Beautiful spot, your lake!
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate your truth. Sometimes it's hard to not get caught up in the comparisons, but everyone has dishes from time to time right?
ReplyDeleteI try not to worry too much about leaving dishes in the sink, but why do I never receive visitors when my house looks neat and tidy? X
ReplyDeleteThat view! So beautiful. Great reminder with the sink, we seldom see the full picture do we?
ReplyDeleteI have never left dishes in sink but doesn’t bother me what others do
ReplyDeleteLiving in Florida now wouldn’t dare lol critters
My two miracles were my life. I made sure they got more of my attention than the house. I am a minimalist and I like organized and neat. Keep things up. I am sure you have plenty of family help in those areas as I did with my kids. Love your blog as always
Oh you're a mind reader...how hard it is to compare with the "perfectly perfect" world that is often portrayed. It gives me such anxiety...oh and Jules is spot on...why does no one visit AFTER I've tidied up?! Thanks so much! Mary
