Ok. Not really. But the guys were away this weekend at a Nascar race, so the girls and I had some fun. And some food. A lot of food. We went to lunch at a lovely tearoom, one of our favorite places. Look how pretty...
We also had a mini-Twilight-movie-marathon, ordered takeout, organized Madison's kitchen (one of my very favorite things to do!!!), had Peyton and Chris for dinner and games, and stayed up way too late. Yesterday I decided to scrub my shower before the Health Department paid me a visit and then proceeded to clean the entire bathroom before totally collapsing on the couch for the remainder of a rainy afternoon.
Steve, Rhett, and Nicolas with Steve's brother and son-in-law.
The guys had a great time golfing, watching the Nascar race before it rained out, and eating at Waffle House. And how happy am I that I was not there for that last one? The floors and menus are always so sticky. Ugh.
Proof that I did something other than eat and watch movies! Fresh sheets on a freshly made bed.
Today I have a few places to go before school. I am getting my hair done. Yay! Then I have to stop to get my new glasses adjusted because they are pinching my nose like crazy. Meh. And finally, a quick stop at McDonald's for some Vanilla Iced Coffee. Yay!!!! Well, that's it for now. I hope you have a great day, my friends. Thanks for checking in. I am always glad you do.
Continued prayers for the brave people of Ukraine and for our whole world.

The tearoom looks very pretty. Glad you all enjoyed the weekend.
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos my friend...and I totally agree on Waffle House, grin. I refuse to eat there. We did though in Columbus, Ohio on the way down here...it's just not my thing. The Tea Room looks to be my "thing" grin. I hope you have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like a fantastic time was had by all. Yay for getting your hair done; I have a hair appt on Thursday and can't wait. Lol. Hope you have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteIt can be very nice to have a gal's weekend! Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo. Sounds like a fun weekend and a busy day today. We don't have Waffle Houses out here in Utah. Sounds like I should be glad. I think we ate at one once in Arizona. I hope your week goes well. See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteI loved this weekend! It was one I won’t forget. 🤍
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely treat. The food looks so delicious. X
ReplyDeleteLovely tea room…prayers for Eukraine…family there…thank you for your positive blogging…when teaching ladies in Sunday School, I always tried to stress the positive attitude…not the anger and complaining…you are such a role model for young women…
ReplyDeleteThe tea room would be a fun place to eat in. I've been to one in Newport years ago when we were celebrating an anniversary. We got married in England when USAF and they had delicious food in UK. Good memories and I did wear a hat that was there in Newport. 2018 I think. Looks like you had a good time and other half of family. Have a blessed day!

The Waffle house grosses me out too. I've eaten there twice in my life - both times on Thanksgiving out shopping & nothing else open. GROSS GROSS GROSS
ReplyDeleteI love that you had a girls day...it's always such fun to have a little getaway, even for an afternoon. I'm in Ohio, but haven't visited a Waffle House, maybe I'll pass! Linda's comment made me laugh, I wonder if it was the one on I-71...I seem to recall seeing one right off the freeway! Sounds like both guys and gals had fun and made terrific memories. Mary
ReplyDeleteSo glad you all enjoyed a nice weekend! I hope we can do another girls day when I visit! Miss you!! (and love your beautiful background! : )
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves Waffle House but it just feels so dirty in there that I can't enjoy my meal!
ReplyDeleteYou and your girls sure had a fun time. As did your boys. Great pictures.
ReplyDeletePlaying catch up on your posts. I'm totally team girls on this one! Lol That tea looked amazing! The guys looked like they had fun too though. 😊
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day with the girls, and the tearoom is a perfect place to have some special time with them. This is a great photo of all of them, and I love Peyton's daisy dress. I will be having a day with the girls next week, and looking forward to it. It's good that you got a chance to clean the shower. You know, the shower is one of my least favorite chores. That was thoughtful of you to organize Madison's kitchen. And this is a fantastic photo of the guys. Your bed looks so cozy with the clean sheets.
ReplyDeleteHappy May, Billie Jo!
