I can still hear your voice.
I can still see your smile.
Ivory soap reminds me of you.
Thin spaghetti and rigatoni too.
Pirate baseball. McDonald's milkshakes.
The Rosary on long car trips.
Ginger ale and Lay's chips.
I see you when I look at my son.
You will never really be gone.
You are just a memory away.
I love you, Dad.
Beautiful♥♥ Always in our hearts! Thinking of you today, my friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow, Billie Jo...I can't believe it has been 6 years. Keeping you in prayer, sweet friend. What a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how fast time goes but how a passing can seem like yesterday. A lovely tribute to your sweet father.

Beautiful. And Rhett is just the spitting image of your dad in my opinion. Praying for you today.
ReplyDeleteHeart and prayers are with you. It was 30 years last week for my mother, and yet there are days I start to go to the phone to call her. Now our talks are in prayers and memories. Always loved and never forgotten.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! HUGS
ReplyDeleteThis is a heartfelt post about your dear Dad, Billie Jo. I love all the old pictures, especially the one where he's joining in the fun with the train set. How special that you said The Rosary on long car drives. I also lost my Dad when I was only 28, but they are always in our hearts, aren't they? Sending comfort and love to you on this Monday morning. : )

How wonderful, what great memories.
ReplyDeleteOh my how touching! I know you miss him so. Mine has gone on as well. I love the pictures your memories are so precious! I see he was a Steelers fan like my husband Chuck's family from PA. The memories are so special.

Such a beautiful tribute to your dad, Billie Jo. And yes, you can definitely see him every time you look at Rhett.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo~
ReplyDeleteWhat precious photos. Your dad does look like Rhett, and I love the photo with your mom, what a cute couple. I don't think we ever really get over the death of a parent...there's just something very special about the love between a father and daughter. Gentle hugs to you, Billie Jo.
What a sweet rememberance of your Dad, and Rhett does look alot like him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute. Love! Hugs from UT.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures filled with precious memories! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful the sweet memories you have of your father. God bless. ~Juli
ReplyDeleteBillie Jo, what a sweet tribute. I love the pic of him playing train. (we had a train like that and the exact FisherPrice garage). Life is too sad sometimes. We do have much to be thankful for, to have had parents who were so involved in our lives. I miss mine so much, I still long to call my mom while I'm making dinner. Hugs to you today.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful...my friend. I know that same hurt unfortunately. When you've had such amazing fathers as ours it's even harder!!! He kinda reminds me of my Dad. My Dad was 100% Italian and Catholic and also loved Ivory soap and Ginger Ale. We had to go to Church 6 days a week back in the day so I get the rosary too..... Gotta love Catholic School
ReplyDeleteYou know what's really ironic..... My Nana (His Mom) also died on Feb. 10, 1989.
You are in my prayers ❤️
Sending virtual hugs. 🤗 Beautiful words Billie Jo. May God and your memories always bring peace, healing, and lots of smiles too. 🙏
ReplyDeleteBillie Jo-this really touched my heart. I'm sure he was the sweetest Dad.
ReplyDeleteI had to smile seeing the pictures of your childhood, especially the gold refridgerator in the third picture down. I had the same one.
