Ahhh, I can still smell the Noxzema! I can remember walking to the library in bare feet and when I got there it was so cool inside! I loved doing that with my best friend who lived next door. I also remember watching The Price is Right, eating freeze pops, and staying up late to watch the fireflies! Such great memories!
I just love your Blog! You are amazing and so are your pictures. My Dad was a car dealer for many years and my son has always wanted to be one! Just another thing we have in common. Christina
So many fun memories! One I don't hear of too often is Chinese Jump Rope. Did you ever play that? One solid piece of elastic rope, first around your ankles, then your knees... My friends and I played that for hours when we were growing up. But we always had to go home when the street lights came on!
yes, yes, and yes! are we the same age? I think I'm older...lol. Do you realize that the things we used to see on the Jetson's are now reality???? facetime??? wow!
Oh I relate with this so well! That lawn chair and its colors really hit me! Lol And for shows - Little House on the Prairie, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley... 😊 Also, snoopy sno-cone machine, mandy doll, my red prairie rose bike ::sigh:: such fun memories
Fireflies at night (lightning bugs is what we called them), sitting outside under the old oak tree after Bible School seeing them flicker! One of my favorite memories! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
Yep! All of those and so many more!!! Love the swing set i can't put it in pictures, but I enjoyed the time in the streets, playing games with all the neighborhood kids. No such thing as "play dates"... you just went outside and joined whatever was going on. I miss that for my kids.
I remember all of those! How I loved that gum - I was thinking about it the other day. I can add one - making bracelets out of clover flowers. Oh and Hawaiian punch concentrate syrup in a bottle and the canned drink version!
I love your memories-I have the same ones!! Plus, drinking out of the hose. (I can still taste hot rubber!) Running through sprinklers. Baby oil. Sunburns. popsicles. What was the suntan lotion ad with the dog pulling at the little girls bikini? That was so iconic.
Same here and now, I am allergic to Noxzema. smiles

ReplyDeleteOh, the memories. I remember watching the Brady Bunch each evening before dinner. Just seeing the container of Noxzema brought the smell right back!
