We took the mandatory "Off on our Annual Getaway" selfie...
Then headed off to the beautiful Bedford Springs Resort.
The resort rooms reflect the charming atmosphere of the hotel's early days...
So very quaint and cozy.
After an afternoon at the spa (Heather and I) and a long walk (Dave and Steve), we had an amazing dinner at the hotel's Frontier Tavern. We talked and laughed and visited for hours.
We had amazing desserts too!
Mine was called Peanut butter and Jelly...
It was sooo good.
After sleeping late the next morning, we packed up and headed home.
But first, we stopped at this amazing restaurant for lunch.
We had a table right beside the fire...
And tried the signature Oatmeal Pie for dessert.
I am still not sure what it is made of, but it was warm and gooey, and delicious.
Friendship, food, and fun...
The perfect combination. : )
Now, I'm Home Sweet Home in my little corner of the couch with my people and my puppy by my side.
Good Times. Good Times.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome getaway! It was so beautiful. I've seen recipes for Oatmeal Pie, but I've never seen a slice. Now I'm intrigued.

Looks like a fun getaway!! So happy you were able to do so! That pie....now I'm wanting to look for a recipe!!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have a getaway! Glad you were able to reconnect together!
ReplyDeleteOh my...what a wonderful getaway. I love the inn you stayed at. My husband and I have never gone anywhere over night with just the two of us. I am really wanting to do that. I am planning a trip to go to Stockbridge, Massachusetts to stay at the Red Lion Inn and then go to the Norman Rockwell museum. I also would like to visit the Yankee Candle Village, while we are in Massachusetts. I'm not sure if we will do it this year or next, but it is something I'm really looking forward to. Take care. Hugs. Juli
