Don't you just love it when you go on Pinterest to look for a recipe and see one thing that reminds you of being young, living at home with your family, and not having a care in the world? I did that today, and I saw these.
Each one instantly took me back to a place and time I miss, and that really made me happy.
Have a great Wednesday, my friends.
Billie Jo
Thank you for the blast from the past!!
ReplyDeleteMe too. Hilarious caption for the bowl!!
ReplyDeleteMy mom had that bowl, and I do remember some of those same multi uses.
ReplyDeleteWe had those plates, and my mother was a world class afghan crocheter....we always had one draped on our brown plaid couch, which faced our huge-0 three channel cabinet tv...next to our hexagonal wood end tables with black American eagles on them, in our green carpeted living room.
ReplyDeleteA visit with MIL and the plates and blankets are still a thing. She’s 91.
ReplyDeleteWhat memories these pictures brought back to me! My husband had a set of those Corelle dishes when we got married. We added to the set in the early years. My mom had one of those Tupperware bowls. Thanks for the blasts from the past.
ReplyDeleteTHe puke bucket bowl!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThΓ© plates, blanket and phone! Good old days!
ReplyDeleteI really like the taper, something we still use but the more modern versions, memories of the phones... Thanks for the post!!
ReplyDeleteIt truly is such a magical thing that these tangible items can bring us back in mind and spirit to simpler times and favorite memories. I just love these posts! Blessings dear Billie Jo π
ReplyDeleteSuch happy memories.
ReplyDeleteDynamints!!!!! I haven't thought of them in....40 years? lol
ReplyDeleteStill have and use the yellow Tupperware bowl - such a great bowl for so many good uses. Never used it for upset stomach or it would never have returned to the kitchen - ha!
ReplyDeleteNow you've taken me back! We had the same Corelle dishes and and afghan almost exactly like the one pictured. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the memories, Billie Jo! They each take me back to a place in time when life was basically care free! xx
ReplyDeleteI still have that bowl. I use it for EVERYTHING. Especially making the stuffing at Thanksgiving. It's the only thing big enough to make the amount I have to make.
ReplyDeleteWe had those plates from when we married until about 5 years ago! So about 40 years! Now they're in our camper so I guess I still have them!
The same afghan, exact colors made by my grandma who taught me to crochet. Same phone and jarts too. Thanks for this blast from the past!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
We have those plates in our cabinet and are used daily! And the B&J's were a big deal for our coming of age drinking.
ReplyDeleteI still use Corelle mugs and have a plate or two! Love all these items you posted today!
ReplyDeleteOops... By Patricia!
DeleteWe need a day to honor the wonderful Tupperware bowl!
ReplyDelete& LITERALLY I thought that was a pic from my childhood with that blanket & plate!!! TRULY
I still have some vintage tupperware. That is funny about the phone. Yes, the homemade blankets were the best. I still love them!
ReplyDeleteWow π you found old Tupperware!! I remember that bowl as my mom had one and I used to have one. Now I have a glass bowl that I use for baking and putting lettuce in to clean the lettuce with YL fruit and veggie soak. Nice old phones and in one spot. We had a black phone on a wall in first house I lived in when I was a kid. Cozy homemade blankets are nice. My sister-in-law made one for us that we still use. I'm glad we have more blue sky and sun. It's been cold for a week. Have a day my friend !!! π· Becky
ReplyDeleteThis is great and I had a lot of fun looking at these. Thanks Billie Joe, happy Friday and weekend to you :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I LOVE the phone one. I'll pass that on to my kids. I still have a landline haha. Just catching up on your lovely posts today, Billie Jo. : )
