Good Monday morning, my friends! Welcome to the middle of October. I love this time of year, as you no doubt already know. These next few weeks, however, are some of my favorites. Slowly, almost unnoticeably, the shift occurs. For me, the pumpkin spice obsessions, bright afternoons, and vibrant leaf-covered trees that define early autumn are replaced with cloudy days and earlier nights, chilly enough for the heat to kick on afternoons and spooky movies on TV at night.
I plan on intentionally enjoying these next two weeks and promise to live in the now, the time of cozy, spooky fun. Come November 1, I can shift into all things Christmas. (No matter how tempted I am by the Target and Home Goods Christmas placemats, ornaments, and throw blankets they shove at me.)
That being said, do you prefer
Reese Peanut Butter Pumpkins or colorful candy corn?
It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown or Michael Myers Halloween?
Colorful leaves on trees or crunchy leaves on the sidewalk?
Pumpkin patches or Haunted houses?
Whatever you enjoy, savor it. These next two weeks will pass before we know it, and we will be knocking on the door of Christmas. (Which I also love, by the way.) Today is a homeschool day for us, and that is about it. We have some groceries to pick up, and I can finally pull on some of my Halloween sweaters and sweatshirts!!!!
Thanks for visiting, my friends. And if you want to get even more in the spirit, search YouTube for Halloween ambiance. It takes enjoying this time of year to a whole new level!

We tried candy corn this weekend with our grandkids. None of us had ever eaten it. The kids took the leftovers home of course. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI like candy corn, but I love chocolate, Charlie Brown, the Great Pumpkin, Colorful leaves on the tree and Pumpkin Patch.
ReplyDeleteColorful leaves on trees for me!
ReplyDeleteReese Peanut Butter Pumpkins or colorful candy corn? Peanut Butter Pumpkins
ReplyDeleteIt's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown or Micheal Myers Halloween? Halloween
Colorful leaves on trees or crunchy leaves on the sidewalk? Colorful leaves on trees
Pumpkin patches or Haunted houses? Pumpkin patches
Charlie Brown, leaves on trees, and pumpkin patches! I am not fond of either candy - I'll take m&m's if you please! And then get a stomach ache from eating too many - my body is not that of a little kid anymore :( .
ReplyDeleteLove the Peanuts mug! Let's see, Reese Peanut Butter Pumpkin (but need a handful of candy corn to get it out of my system), It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, colorful leaves on trees, and neither a pumpkin patch or haunted house. Happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeleteReese's all the way for me. I like both the colorful leaves and the crunch of them on the ground pretty equally. The pumpkin patches are cute but we do a haunted house with our friends every years so that is definitely a favorite. Great tips about the ambiance on youtube, i'll use it for our upcoming party.
ReplyDeleteHello there, Happy Fall to you! I love anything chocolate and peanut butter! I definitely love all the special moods of Fall. I am spending much of my time outdoors still! We have not had a killing frost yet, and there is much work to be done in the garden, still. I love the gently falling leaves, honking of the geese headed south, and the bright blue skies. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are enjoying your time of year! Hard not to think about Christmas a little bit. I've been doing a lot of walking at a local nature center which is one of the things I love about fall and looking for the migrating birds. Um, what does it mean if I have both those candies in the house right now? Ha. If I have to choose, give me the peanut butter pumpkin. Michael Meyers is much too scary for me, need to stick to Charlie Brown and Linus. As much as I like pretty scenery, there's something so satisfying in crunching through those leaves. And definitely, a pumpkin patch over a haunted house for me! Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour header is totally cool. I agree the rest of this month is gorgeous with a nice chill in the air. For me, candy corn, Charlie Brown, leaves on trees, and pumpkin patches.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite stretch of October for sure! Reeses, Neither (Halloween is too scary for this wimp and Charlie Brown gets me all worked up about who is passing out rocks and why poor Charlie got stuck with them. Still required viewing but not my favorite!) Crunchy leaves and pumpkin patches!

None of the movies
BOTH the colorful leaves and walking in the crunchy ones

A nice reminder to enjoy each day we are given, especially when it's a favorite! I love candy corn, The Great Pumpkin, Colorful leaves on trees ( really don't like the raking part), Pumpkin Patches. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteI like Reece's, Charlie Brown, colorful leaves and pumpkin patches. I'm really not into Halloween, so prefer the Fall and THanksgiving things. I used to be adamant about no Christmas things until after Thanksgiving, but I've been pushing it up a little. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually can't stand halloween, but would have to choose Charlie Brown, crunchy leaves, Reeses every day :)
ReplyDeleteReese's, Charlie Brown, colorful leaves for me, grin...not so much colorful leaves here in Florida, can I entice you in Palm Trees? grin. Wishing you beautiful Tuesday my friend. P.S. OHHHHHHHHHH Your blog is looking pretty spooky, grin.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! I prefer Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, The Great Pumpkin, beautiful colored leaves on trees (but walking on crunchy ones is fun) and definitely pumpkin patches. I am not into haunted houses or the scary part of Halloween at all. I hope that you are having a good week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteHappy new week dear Friend! Already been kicking on the heat here and had the first frost on the deck this morning! Brrr Everything is turning golden around here and I too am soaking up every second. :) Let's see - I am a Reese's pumpkin (but I do love candy corn mixed with peanuts), Charlie Brown as I've never really liked scarier movies, I love leaves on the trees because they fill my soul!, and pumpkin patches for sure. ๐ ๐งก
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo~ I love candy corn, prefer the leaves on the trees and I could never say, no, to Charlie Brown, and bring on the haunted houses! I really do love Halloween!! I'm not sure I'm ready for the cold that Christmas brings, but I do love Christmas as well! Have a great week! Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteHey there! I'm stopping by your blog thanks to the comment you left on mine. It's so nice to meet you! I loved this post. I always have an ambient channel on YouTube going on my tv as well! I always just do a fall background search, but my favorite channel is Calmed By Nature. We have lots in common, as I was also a homeschool mom to our four sons! They're all in their 20's now, and sometimes I still can't believe that. I love these cozy months as well, and I look forward to reading your blog each day. I hope you don't mind, but I added you to my sidebar. I think my answers are Reese's peanut butter pumpkins, Charlie Brown, leaves on trees, and pumpkin patches. I still love a pumpkin patch! I hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm a few days late but I had to play along!! Definitely love those Reeses Peanut Butter cups, Charlie Brown, colorful leaves on trees, pumpkin patches. As a kid I loved horror movies and everything spooky. My sisters are a lot older than me so I was always watching those scary movies with them. Now as an adult I can't stand it and get easily spooked. My kids have been begging me to watch scary movies and I'd rather direct them to something more fun and joyful. Ha.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the Linus coffee cup is the cutest thing ever. And I LOVE the October wind quote. Haven't seen that one yet. So, here it is.......
ReplyDelete*Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins
*It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

Fun fun post, Billie Jo. I believe Disney Haunted Mansion 2 is out now if you and Flynn want to check it out.
I heard it was pretty good.
