Happy Friday, my friends! And can you believe it? This is Memorial Day Weekend! We have no plans for the weekend, and I am happy as can be about that. This week has been beautiful here in Maryland, allowing for early morning walks and even homeschooling on the porch. I felt a little like Snow White while I was walking, with so many creatures stopping to say hello.
Actual images of all the creatures I met this week.
In other news, Flynn started her very first job this week! She is so excited to be working at a local smoothie restaurant, and after her first day, she came home so happy! I am proud of her and look forward to watching her learn, grow, and make new friends.
This is another reason I love homeschooling. We can work around her job and even do afternoon school on the porch. Porches aren't for iced coffee breaks anymore! But I highly recommend it.
And lastly, we celebrated Rhett's birthday this week! The one who brought Tonka trucks and endless laughter to our family turned twenty-four. Rhett is such an amazing young man. He is such a sensitive, fun, hardworking, and caring person, and brings so much joy to our family. I am so thankful God chose me to be his mom.
I surprised him with fudge, like I used to when he was little.
He requested smashburgers and Madison's macaroni and cheese for dinner...
And his very favorite...Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake with strawberries and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
We laughed because the pound cake looked so funny with the candles!
Well, time to get going. I am going to have some breakfast and get going with my day. I have laundry, homeschooling, and some vacuuming to do today. If it rains all day, I may sneak in an afternoon nap, too. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. Thank you for visiting. I always apprecoate when you.

Happy Birthday to Rhett and congratulations to Flynn! How exciting! All good news and celebrations this week! Happy Memorial Day weekend! We need a proper catch up soon! Miss you! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Snow White! I did enjoy seeing all the creatures you came across. The joy of Spring and nature.
ReplyDeleteLook at Flynn! She looks so cute and happy. I know she'll bring joy to the people she works with and her customers.
Happy Birthday to Rhett!
Billie Jo, what a cozy weekend to come! And so many celebrations! I have felt like I was in a Disney movie this spring with all of the deer, foxes, bunnies and birds around our yard. It's been magical! Have a wonderful weekend and holiday my friend :)
ReplyDeleteThe birthday celebration looks wonderful! Congrats to Flynn on her first job!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Flynn! Working opened a new world to my shy, introverted, homeschooled daughter. She now has a group of five really great girls to hang out with because of that job. I hope Flynn has just as great an experience!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Rhett! And I am so happy to read that about Flynn, smiles. Wishing you a beautiful day, we just came in from the pool and we are relaxing, smiles.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Flynn on her job! Happy birthday wishes to Rhett! His birthday meal looked incredible. Care to share the fudge recipe, Billie Jo? I enjoyed the pictures from your morning walk. Have a peaceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes! I will share it soon! Thanks for asking! It is so easy!
DeleteI don't know where my comment went. Sorry. Your walk with those animals is so sweet. Congratulations to Flynn on her new job. Happy Birthday to Rhett! You're making me hungry. That food all looks so delicious. Thank you for sharing all the pictures. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour snapshot with the homeschool text books got my attention. "Friendly Chemistry." Can that even be possible?!!! I barely escaped the class once in high school and again in college. Awfully hard. Perhaps if I had been homeschooled it would have left a better impression on me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Rhett and congratulations to Flynn on her first job. :)
ReplyDeleteYou got some great bird pictures. All the food looks so good.
