Good Monday morning, my friends! I hope your weekend was all you hoped for, and then some! We had a nice, quiet one here with mass, dinner, and a long-distance birthday!
Saturday was a stormy day, the kind of day I love. It looked ominous all day, and we had a couple of bursts of rain and thunder. Right before we went into mass, we were sure it would pour, but once inside, I noticed the sun shining through the stained glass. Beautiful. After dinner, Flynn suggested that Steve and I go on a date, so we dropped her off at home and went to my favorite little Italian place for dinner. We had a nice time, and while we were there, we talked about the fact that it had been twenty-five years since Peyton was born! Yes, our second-born turned twenty-five on Saturday, and although we were not together physically to celebrate her, we shared her day through texts and phone calls. Christopher surprised her with a day trip to a history museum! She was thrilled!
When I think of Peyton Rose, I think of this little, happy girl.
Wasn't she a cutie?!?! Twenty-five years. Dang! Just like that. She is a beautiful, happy, talented, kind young woman, and we all love her so! Leaving you today with a few images from Google just because. Have a great day, my friends. Still homeschooling here!

Happy birthday to your sweet Peyton!! I love that 'just say no' meme. Yes! It has taken years for me to learn to say no, but it comes easily now. Have a blessed week ahead!

ReplyDeleteYes, people have a way of making their life complicated. :)
Happy birthday, Peyton!
ReplyDeleteShe is a lovely young lady -- and what a pretty name! It suits her well.
ReplyDeleteAnd really, both of your meals look delicious!
It's strange how we still think of our babies even though we look at our grown adults! Sometimes my aches to hold my littles again. I enjoyed your quotes. Sunday evening, my husband and I started tearing apart (contents only) of our enclosed porch. We're trying to make it more sewing and office friendly for me and project friendly for him. Tonight, I sit in chaos. Hopefully, tomorrow we will finish.
ReplyDeleteI am writing to thank you for praying and encouraging me and sending me gifts during my cancer fight. It began in May 2017. I'm eight years out from my diagnosis and beginning chemo now. No signs of cancer. Thank you Jesus!
You've truly been a friend to me through it all.
God bless you richly and all those you love as well.
Laura

Love the meme about thinking about Halloween... that's me!
What a fun and interesting thing to do for Peyton's birthday. Going to a history museum is right up my alley. ; ) Such sweet photos of her growing up, and special memories for you as well. I just came across the Cottage Whimsy quote recently and loved it. Your Italian food looks absolutely delicious. And I love your simple blue coffee cup.
ReplyDeleteI hope the June days are kind to you, my friend.
